After getting her marketing degree from The University of Texas in Arlington
and spending several years conducting and implementing market research for a national telecommunications company in the DFW Metroplex, Paula left the corporate world behind to fulfill her own dreams of business ownership. She launched her company as a Virtual Assistant (VA) in 2007,
providing organization, administrative, and marketing support for business owners in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Her collaborative nature made her ideal for companies needing to temporarily, or permanently, augment their existing support staff. She was able to add new skills and fresh perspective to her clients’ operational and marketing efforts.
As her company grew, so did the services Paula was able to offer her clients. No longer a general VA, Paula became known as the Marketing VA in Fort Worth. She provided administrative support, but the bulk of her time was spent building, optimizing, and maintaining her clients’ WordPress websites, and managing their online communications to customers and prospects.
At Strategic Online Solutions, Paula tackles problems many business owners don’t realize they have because they didn’t exist a few short years ago.
Changes to the world of online marketing, the growth of social media, and the necessity of online brand management have launched Paula’s business to the next level. In 2011, Paula stepped away from her role as a VA, and took up the mantle of Internet and Social Media Marketing Specialist for her new company, Strategic Online Solutions (SOS).
She saw the need for this shift when she realized advances in Internet technology and interactive user trends was becoming a double-edged sword for business owners.
As more and more people join online social networks, post reviews, and comment on blog posts, a company’s image faces a new set of challenges.
Business owners who don’t pay attention to what’s being said miss out on opportunities to interact with customers and run the risk of ignoring critical problems.
- Monitoring what’s being said about their companies and their competition,
- Researching the best online outlets to reach new markets and launch new products,
- Controlling damage done by unfair criticism or disgruntled employees, and
- Developing strategies to integrate both online and offline marketing efforts.
Working with a team of designers, branding experts, consultants, and trainers, Paula is able to give her clients well-rounded online marketing strategies that have been custom-built to suit their individual needs and objectives.
In addition to her role at Strategic Online Solutions, Paula is a recurring speaker and teacher at Knowledge For Success, a non-profit business center in Fort Worth that helps new and existing business owners improve their skills and avoid mistakes that could lead to failure. The subjects she teaches include: market research, e-mail marketing, Internet and social media strategies, and understanding how to use WordPress for website development.
