When writing a press-release for on-line publications follow these three easy SEO steps to ensure your release will turn up in a Google search.

1) Build links into your document BEFORE you send it out. Journalists are begging for links in press releases…it keeps them from having to look information up. The general rule is no more than one link per every 100 words.

2) Write good content, and be sure to use italics, bold, bullets, etc. to make your content more readable. It’s simple really: easy to read content + good content = content that will be shared on social media sites, posted on other bloggers sites, linked to, etc.

3) Remember you are writing for both reporters AND robots; however, respect the reader and don’t go overboard with the tags or links.
